Daily activity:


Thursday 02nd: water temp 83.3 ENE 2-8mph in the a.m. / 86.0 WSW 6-9mph. The water was clean. There were several small King Mackerel caught in the late afternoon just before sunset. Arnette got this one on a vertical jigging spoon. More Kings were seen approaching bait but didn’t eat. Several Tarpon were hooked just before sunset as well. The usual other Spanish, Hardtails and Ladyfish were on the catch list. Live bait was available.

 

 


Friday: water temp 84.2 NNE 5-6mph in the a.m. / 87.1 W 7-10mph in the p.m. The water was clean. The pier was partially shut down to prepare for the upcoming July 4th fireworks performance. However, the end was open in the early morning for a while. There was a Bonita blitz for those anglers that made it out. Brenda left with a cooler full.

 

 


Saturday: water temp 86.0 N 3-5mph in the a.m. / 88.3 SSW 10-13mph in the p.m. The water was clean. The pier was closed while fireworks were loaded then partially reopened until the fireworks show.

 

Sunday: water temp 85.8 NNW 2-4mph in the a.m. / 87.4 SSW 7-10mph wind in the p.m. The water was clean. Several small King Mackerel were caught in the afternoon. Lots of Bonita were caught. A couple of Tarpon were hooked, and an undersized Sailfish was brought to the pier and popped off. Live bait was available.


Monday: water temp 86.7 SW 19-24mph in the a.m., during a thunderstorm then switched to the W at 5-7mph by 08:00 / 87.4 SW 8-11mph in the p.m. The water was clean. Jose caught three small King Mackerel in the early morning. There were also Bonita in the morning. Buck, Brandt and Grady, from Albany, Ga. Got in on the action. From 09:30 until 5:00p.m., I saw one nice Spanish Mackerel caught by Keith. Several Tarpon rolled on bait, but none were hooked. Live bait was available.

 

 


Tuesday: water temp 86.5 W 12-15mph in the a.m. / 88.5 SW 11-15mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There was a decent early morning bite with a few King Mackerel hooked and several Bonita. Only one King was decked, and “Flipper” got the others and one of the Bonita. The bite was done before 06:00. The afternoon was slow with two Kings hooked before 5:00. One “schoolie” was landed and “Flipper “ate the bigger one that Danny hooked. I got a Bonita. Keith landed a nice Spanish Mackerel. There were some Bluefish and Ladyfish as well. A couple of schools of Tarpon passed but none were hooked. Live bait was available.


Wednesday 01st. water temp 86.5 WSW 9-12mph in the a.m. and continued WSW until 4:30 / 87.8 SE 6-8mph in the late p.m.  The water was clean. There were two King Mackerel hooked in the morning by Jose and Danny. Both were lost to “Flipper”. Three small King Mackerel were decked in the afternoon from about 5-pounds to 10.6-pounds. John C. got the 10.6-pound. Several Bonita were caught but only a couple of Spanish Mackerel. Three Tarpon were caught and released by Casey B., Von and me. A couple more were hooked but lost. Lots of Ladyfish were caught in the late afternoon. Live bait was available.

 

 


Red Tide status: In Northwest Florida over the past week, K. brevis was not observed.
